The Art of Seeing

I'm Qiao, the photographer behind QiaoBellaPhotography. My path has taken me from Shanghai to Brussels, and now to Strasbourg, where I've settled and fallen for the region's restaurants.

Every restaurant, every dish, carries its own character. What I search for is the language that speaks to it — the angle, the light, the fleeting moment that reveals its true nature. That is the part of this craft closest to my heart: not simply documenting a plate, but finding the way it deserves to be seen.

A food lover decides between two restaurants, or between two dishes on the same menu, almost entirely with their eyes — before they've tasted anything. I believe photography's job is to shorten that decision: sharp, honest imagery reduces hesitation, draws attention to higher-margin dishes, and turns a menu, a delivery listing, or an Instagram feed into a storefront that keeps working long after the kitchen has closed.
